HIPAA Compliance Assessment Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced HIPAA Compliance Assessment Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our organization adheres to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations. You will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments, identifying compliance gaps, and recommending improvements to enhance our privacy and security practices. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of HIPAA requirements and has a proven track record of successfully managing compliance initiatives.

Job Role

•  Conduct comprehensive HIPAA compliance assessments and audits.
• Identify areas of non-compliance and provide actionable recommendations.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
• Train staff on HIPAA regulations and best practices.
• Monitor ongoing compliance efforts and assist with remediation as necessary.
• Prepare and present reports on compliance status to senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, information technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in HIPAA compliance or a related role.
• Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS), or Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) are preferred.
